If you live anywhere near Orange County I encourage you to check out the Southern California Orchid Species Society Annual Auction being held this Sunday, October 12 at the Placentia Public Library. The auction starts at 2pm but people are encouraged to come by early starting around noon to help set up the auction (and stay after to help clean-up).
If you have any extra divisions, or plants that refuse to bloom, or plants that would do better in a greenhouse...bring them to the auction to help support the society and help clear up space in your growing area for different orchids.
According to their paper newsletter that I received it's a really important event for the society. It's such an important event that they neglected to post it on their website...
