Orchid Fayre in UK

Hi everyone,

I have never been to a HUGE an orchid show. The only big display (and it was big) I have seen was at the Chelsea Flower show. But we have an Orchid Fayre coming up next week-end at Dinton Pasture, not far from Reading.
So if you, UK orchid geeks, have nothing planned for the bank holiday, I suggest you this orchid fayre. I went last year and bought 3 beautiful orchids.
I am going with 2 friends this year. I bet the car with full of orchids on the way back

UMMMM blackberry jam sounds yummy. Every year I go pick wild blackberries and make jelly. Ohhhhhh, & the orchid show sounds great. We won't have any shows until late next winter into spring

Too bad we are so far away. Love jam. Use to go to Pascadero to pick strawberries and blackberries. Yummy!!!

What could be better than walking around an Orchid Fayre with a slice of fresh bread and blackberry jammed topped with lashings of whipped cream ??????

Maybe with some orchid pots in the other hand ...........

I will think about you guys, while I will be walking around the stands full of orchids.
I will think about you when I will purchase my new babies ( I would love to find a Nappa Queen Valley

but somehow I dont believe it is going to happen)
And for my blackberry jelly, well you will be glad to know that it is a success, yummy as always

but I am not sure I can handle 3 pots and a blackberry toast at once, I am a woman and we can do more than 1 thing at the time, but come on

unless I take a small trolley

Seriously. I would have loved to visit the show, but we're off to the Dales for the Bank Holiday weekend. Enjoy...

Tizzycat, it is not a big show, but they are at least 10 different nurseries, some come from France and Netherland. So it is definitively a cool place to shop orchids

and it is in park, I think there is even a golf course to occupy hubbies not so keen on chids

There is always next year but meantime enjoy the countryside of Dales. I hope you will get a nice weather, not really we have been very lucky so far this summer

I went to the fayre with my friends and we had a wonderful time

It was so hard to choose

I could not make my mind

Next time, if my friends come along again, we definitively need a trolley. They manage to control themselves as they did not took so much cash! But they said that next year they will be ready

I bought a lovely miniature phal, a BLC Varut Magic Show, a Brassia Arania Verde, a Wils. Zoe's Fire and a Colmanara Wildcat 'Bobcat'! only 5

I do admit for the Blc Varut Magic Show, I have almost thought that I will not bring back home!! It was love first sight

but an old lady in a wheelchair was standing in front of this plant for at least 20 minutes!!

I am sorry, I don't know

I have have created a new album in my profile just for this Fayre. And I am explaining actually that now I feel silly because I did not take pic of the names of the plants. Next year, I will. And unfortunately, I cannot even get the name from the grower's website.

and I found difficult to resize them without spoiling the picture. She took a lot of close-up.
