time lapse

I am not sure if this is the right thread to post it...
I came accross a news item on a gadget/tech site regarding a very inexpensive garden camera that can shot and combine shots in a time lapse HD video. I am providing the link in case anyone is interested.

i'm glad you found it usefull
I am also tempted to get one if they are sold in Europe. The price is very good and i could use it on my orchids like how a bud developes and a flower opens. Or when i get more experience i could have it follow a protocorn in flask to adulthood blooming

Great video of the butterfly. As a kid i was collecting cocoons from the garden and observing them emerging transformed. Thanks for sharing Benetay

Actually you can use a normal camera to do that. Some camera has got this setting to do that, so you don't really need a special device. What i did last time was to set a timer inside the camera to turn on every 15mins (can be up to 1-3hrs) interval. So when the flower is starting to open, i just let it run until it's fully bloom. For orchids i think every 3-4 hours interval set for 3 days might be very good. However all should be done in a controlled area so that your pictures and finally video will capture it's full glory.

Cheers!

That's neat. My husband said that a camera we have does that and has a setting for it. Not that I'll ever know how to use it but maybe you don't need to buy a new camera. Might want to check first.

wow that would be a cool device especially for us newbies, because we'll be able to
learn more about orchids and how they live their secret lives.
