Announcement Re user names

Hi members
I have been dealing with new registered members that have inappropriate user names here on orchidgeeks.

Any porn related user names will have there IP ( Internet Provider ) address and Email Address blocked and the account deleted asap.

Any other inappropriate user names or email address will have the account deleted. asap

there is no need for that sort of stuff here on orchidgeeks and will not be tolerated.

wonderfull, this is the best site I have ever been a member on.
No harvesting of your email address every time you send or reply to a message , then get spammed for the next six monts or so.

When I see this sort of thing I'm reminded of a cartoon from years ago... possibly B. Kliban. The drawing was not captioned (none required), but showed a chimpanzee typing away at a computer keyboard having a "chat" with some guy with a sleazy smile on his face.

Just remembering that always makes me smile.

lol i have had that silly person about 8 times today lol
each IP and Email address blocked
the last few times I have done that while that person was registering here

it must be the time of year or something--another board i'm on (VERY small, VERY few users) has been getting hit with spam just about EVERY day. you have to sign up on this thing and wait for the approval email--i can't imagine what the spammers are thinking; all that trouble for a couple dozen users? --who report them as soon as we see them?? [/baffled]

I had him back again I was up till 3 am trying to get the smilies back for us I fell asleep
and I have just woke up one of our nice members emailed me and told me he was back so this time I have added his a porn to the illegal user names.

Fred: Thanks for your tireless efforts to keep our forum free from this garbage. We all know that it's a never ending job for you to protect our site and the members. You do a great job keeping a watchful eye out for this stuff and stopping it.

I didn't notice any porn user names. Hummm, then again it probably would have flew right past me. Great job Fred! Thanks for all the time and effort you put into this forum. I was lucky to stumble on to it.
