I think it would make information much easier to find, as well as information you may stumble upon, not even looking for....all there, in one place. I suspect though that it might be too much work to start sorting through all the posts and consolidating everything into these forums. |

| Sandra yes I am a member but I can not think like a member I have to do what I think is best for the Forum that is why I have left this suggestion open to the members. yeah it is a lot of work but that is what we are here for as well. |

| I rather like the idea as well. As Jay stated, it would help for all types of members in searching for specific info for a genera or alliance. As long as we keep it somewhat narrowed down, otherwise it would probably be too cumbersome and I know a lot of extra work for you.

| General cultural information for each alliance can be summed up in the form of a chart. Practically speaking, lets see if this is useful. Ok, I just bought a Blc. Fancy Shmancy and I want to know how to grow it, so I go to orchidgeeks.com of course.

| My opinion as a member: I enjoy the variety I find by just going to the "70 most recent threads". I love my phals, but want to read about dens and catts, too. ![]() Well, you wanted other opinions and this is just my opinion, Sandra. It may not be popular, but I'm sticking to it... ![]()

| I've read forums where the "families" are grouped together and I only check on things I like - I never venture into the other sections if I don't have it or think I want it. By sorting through the general sections here I can fall in love with something I didn't know I needed. Just my two cents but with inflation, probably four cents now. Brooke |

| The 70 most recent posts would still be there for those who like to see everything new. However, there are times that I am looking for information for a certain species or genera and it would be nice to be able to look through a section with those groups. This is at least how I would imagine it.

| I, generally, only use the 70 Most Recent Posts to view daily. I like the idea of dividing topics/posts in to the different alliances, for the non-newbie, but how many topics have there been... "Just got an orchid, what is it?" I really like how everything is right now. Can't tell you how many new plants I have 'fallen for' just by reading up on a new topic. Boy, did that make any sense? Need more coffee!!! |

| Got it. Here's a thought - not sure that it's possible to do but Fred can find out. Is there a way to 'Tag' a topic, no matter where it is on the forum? Fred, or another admin, reads the post and makes the decision that it is related to Cattleya (for example). I guess this would tie in to other comments above about search capabilities. |
