Information for all Geeks

Hi Members
As some of you may be aware the forum was down a few times yesterday
I have heard from Dave that he is having his Programmer look at this asap
we also have a few little bugs that Dave has just been made aware of.
I am sure the forum will be running smooth again as soon as possible
sorry for any inconveniences this may be causing

thank you for your understanding
Fred

AT LAST !!!!!

NO MORE WITHDRAWL SYMPTOMS !

My wife asked my why I was so cranky over the weekend. I didn't have the nerve to tell her it was because I couldn't access the forum.

Sad, isn't it ?

Yes, Yes, Yes she said! Ok, it's good to be back and everything working. It was lonely here with sleet, snow, ice, gloomy, dreary, downright depressing. I missed you guys!

Thanks fred.

I really missed 'reading' the threads. I never thought I will miss it so much.

You have done a great job in getting back on track so fast. I have heard that DB, MIS and IMS can be a pain to recover from corruption.

Thank you very much,again.

Yes!!! I am doing a dance in my chair right now. I was a total crankypants all weekend. Weird, I think this is my guilty little pleasure.

I was so lucky to be totally distracted with work all weekend, wishing I could find time to log on but I couldn't. And all I missed was frustration!!! Sorry that everyone else was put out of sorts by this... I know I would have been also!

During one of my numerous attempts to pull our forum up, I googled orchidgeeks and got a conversation between Dave and somebody, trying to figure out how to get the site back up. Dave indicated it had been hacked by someone someplace in Russia. Was this really some imbecile's idea of entertainment?? I shudder to think what this must have cost Dave & others in terms of money, effort and frustration. It is appreciated.

That is so true, E-Jag.

It is hard to fathom the minds of such 'sadistic' people if they are past the teen years.

Some believe it is a disorder of the brain (a mild state of ADHD to the other end such as Asperger syndrome, which comes under autism spectrum.) But I am not sure if it widely accepted in the psychiatric community.

A few years ago I lost all my data on all my hard disks. It was the 'nimda' virus.

Luckily I had been using back up drives ( just for fun) and I did not permanently lose much info ( not much- a few articles , pictures and mp3s.)

Trouble clicking on pictures....

I have noticed that the pictures will not show when you click on them in the Orchid Picture Gallery thread. I wanted to get a better look at a thumbnail and when I clicked on it nothing came up. Is this part of the site down
