Just a note to all forum members

From today the 1 of September 07 any new members that Register with orchidgeeks,com that do not have a valid IP Address Will be Deleted From the Forum.

The Admins have a Forum Feedback setup for Guests and Members to use.
As a result of Abuse of this feature all IP addresses that show admin Could Not Resolve Host Name will be deleted from the Forum.

If a Registered member with a Valid IP Adrress sends Forum Feedback containing Porn Links will also be Banned there will be NO Exceptions to this.

I do not see the funny side of sending links like that just to waist my time.

I would just like to remind the new members to read the Forum Rules & Guidelines.

There's enough sites out there that already cover this, we would much rather deal with orchids, let them go to sites which cater for porn and leave us alone.

Most of the spam I get these days apparently comes from automated sources (or so I'm told by the IT folks) which makes them difficult to block. Apparently there is software out there that can get around our attempts to block spam by generating a new fake originating email address every time it sends out it's hoard of spam. Since thechnically there is no "source" it makes it diffiult to block. Many email filters can block domains or individual addresses which this seeks to circumvent.

Does orchidgeeks have a feature that can automatically delete accounts with no IP address without you having to do it manually?

What an irony!! We love orchids. Would we love them if we know the etymology of the word orchid (=orchus=testis)?

The technique of spamming has really become very sophisticated.We have to take the bad with the good.

I've known the etymology for years and it hasn't affected my orchid craze in the slightest. It does however give new meaning to those frequent instances when I tell people I have 500 orchids only to have them reply, "Are you nuts?"

No we can not do this automatically

Its a case of sorting them out one by one.
I drew the line today with a new member with a valid IP address sent over 50 porn links via forum feedback.

1 example we just had a new member register user name niketront IP address
81.95.151.50 sending forum feedback with an IP Could Not Resolve Host Name
is now Deleted.

If you wish to be a member of this Forum you Must have a valid ip address
