Species Project Arrival Photos

I thought it might be easier to have everyone post their project photos on a "clean thread"? I know that Sandra has some ideas on getting this project off and running in a slightly different format but this might give us a place to compare original pics until it is ready to go?
Here are my two plants as they arrived last Friday. Phal has three leaves and paph has one small new fan just starting besides the original.
My intent will be to repot the phal into my coir mix and leave the paph in bark.

Mike, in the alternative, I agree with you, this is a good idea. Bummer that the project's been stalled in getting the sub-forums up and running. Fred is out of town, he should be back soon.

Here is my arrival photo. Not all are in the project, some are just 'I have to have thats.' I am re-potting and mounting today and will do another picture with just the 'participants.'

I have a nice, rainy day to stay in cooking and potting.

PhalPal it seems you got a little trigger happy on your PC mouse the day of the Oak Hill order.

FlaCo I don't know what it is?? I seem to have these uncontrollable finger spasms on my right hand. Some days it just can't be stopped.

The first picture was taken after I received my Oak Hill order on 03/12/2008 (before the species project was announced). The second picture was taken today 04/03/2008.

You lucky people.

I'm still trying to track them down in the UK - the orchid nurseries that have them showing on the web, DON'T have them in stock, that's so annoying.

Watch this space, I WILL get there in the end. In the meantime I'll enjoy looking at yours.

Connie I love your orchid buying philosophy.

Here's mine... The Koellenstinea graminea came in great shape, well potted and all meticulously packed, but my Phal amboinensis came with one leaf flopped over the wrong way. It's not broken, but I assume it got that way from the stress of transit. I intend to repot in Mike's coir mix and if I position it just right in the pot, I'm hoping it will relax back into shape. What do you think?

Give it a chance to relax. It should return to normal. The hybrid Phal I got from Jerry, the leaves were like that. After setting for awhile they relaxed. I repotted into Aussie Mix, similar to Mike's stuff. Good stuff.

I have mine, and have taken photos, but, will have to post the beginning of next week. I'm going away for the weekend-leaving tomorrow-Friday. I need assistance from my posting patrol and have to get them over here!
