| Species Project - Poll OK Geeks, whichever 2 plants are most favored in this poll, the runner up plant or a second poll to be conducted on Tuesday (and ending Thursday) by members wishing to participate in the project, will be waiting for us all when the final votes are in, at Oak Hill Gardens Oak Hill Gardens and elsewhere, for our members residing outside the U.S. The Orchid House - Vendors of Orchid Plants and related material, Orchid Vendors in the European Union, North of England Orchid Society - Nurseries in the UK, Orchid Vendors in the European Union EXTRA, EXTRA....READ ALL ABOUT IT! We will either conduct another poll after this poll ends or select the runner up plant to give members a chance and choice in selecting an alternative plant for the project. By urgings from other members, we'll have 2 plants in the species project. In fact, it will make the project much more interesting and give members a chance to take on a plant they'd alternatively prefer, should the winner in this poll be a disappointment to some of you. Mike brought this up in another thread and it's a fantastic suggestion and makes more sense than I originally had Quote:
![]() Anyone who does not participate in the poll, will still have the opportunity to get in on the project. There will be enough plants for everyone to buy. (I just received confirmation from Oak Hills.) Once both polls end and you've placed your orders, would you please let me know? Fred will be setting up sub forums (by members names) for easy referencing and navigation. So, hold off on purchasing your plants (unless, the one you wanted to win, does!) until the second poll is conducted. I recognize that this has been an evolving project/process and I've been doing my utmost to please every one and still keep it as a viable, fun project to do together. Thank you all so much for your support along the way with all the little changes that have occurred. We're getting there though....thanks to every one of you! ************************************************** ****************** MEMBERS PARTICIPATING IN PROJECT #1 Ak Orchid (Anchorage, Alaska) - voted articuno75 (Portland, Indiana) - voted brookn (Missouri) -voted chefatplay (Vero Beach, Florida) pending clarita (Chicago, IL) - voted cytojo (Northfield Center, Ohio) - pending dipasquo (San Francisco, California) - voted evagentry (Romania) - voted flowerchild (Ontario, Canada) - voted Hummer344 (San Jose, California) - voted janice (Southern Illinois) - voted jay (Palm Springs, California) - voted jbigio (Bushkill, Pennsylvania) - voted jctusa (Michigan) pending kellyincville (Virginia) - voted made4engineering (Texas) - voted mayres (Keizer, Oregon) - voted NancyG (Broward County, Florida) pending patticake (Halfmoon, New York) - voted PhalPal (Placentia, California) - voted pikevi (Ontario, Canada) pending pitik101 (Philippines/Singapore) pending Rocinante (Long Island, New York) - voted rodbender (Port Charlotte, Florida) - voted Sandra (Palm Beach County, Florida) - voted Sharyn (Chicago, Illinois) - voted shiningrock (MA.) - voted snowballsarebad (Fairfax, Virginia) - voted Tobi (Upstate New York) - voted tizzycat (West yorkshire, United Kingdom) - voted Tom499 (Birmingham, United Kingdom) - voted Vivienne (Colorado Springs, Colorado) - voted Last edited by sandra; 03-24-2008 at 08:31 PM. |

| My Phaphs usually die off within three to four months. At the last Martin County Orchid show I purchased four more. Not going to give up. Now able to put them in an orchid house of sorts. Heard about the from Jerry and hoped it would help me. Harleylineman |

| Oak Hill Gardens has great plants and great customer service! I just bought a PHALAENOPSIS amboinensis (and sooooo many others) from them about 2 months ago. I don't know about the "project" (where can I find the details?). If the amboinesis is part of the project, I'll play along! |
