Paph spicerianum

4/2/08 arrival. Paph is potted in bark mixture in 2.5" pot.
A new growth is delveloping. Watered with worm tea on 4/4/08 and have not watered since, as it is still quite cold and damp here. It is currently on a west windowsill, however, I may decide to try this one under lights.

By biggest fear with these tiny plants in tiny pots is keeping them properly moist. Even with a skewer, I have a tendancy to underwater this size pot.
I usually have better luck growing bigger plants. Should be interesting to see if I can keep this alive!

A balance is always best, but I feel underwatering would be better than overwatering.

I know the feeling. I've got 3 seedling sized orchids now in bark (Den, Catt & psychopsis) and it always seems I have to water them. They're all growing but I've constantly need to water them.

One of my favorites. I have 3 (the only one I kept 3 of). Mine like to be moist at all times. I keep them indoors under light and they do fine, the picture attached shows the last bloom about two months ago. Keep the pot in a saucer. When I water, the water runs into the saucer which they provides extra humidity as well. I’m watering my Paphs and Phrag (about 50 in all) on average every 3 days.

I'm so confused!?? There are threads popping up like this one and I don't know what the plan is??? Should we all be starting a new thread for each of our new arrivals from Oak Hill?? Or will be all be in one thread? Help?

Connie: If you go to the Species Project sub-forum and press the link for the specific species plant, (i.e. phal ambionensis) you can do your posts regarding that particular plant. It looks confusing, but all of our posts popping up are actually in that sub-forum section.

The Species section seems to be working fine. The Hybrid section still has some bugs to be worked out.
