How pretty. Nice picture too.

I hope this means mine will be blooming soon too. I only have one red one that hasn't boomed since last year.

Yeah, this is an Epiphyllum hybrid, commonly known as "orchid cactus."

I have an orchid cactus but it keeps threatenting to die. I have other plans for it. They are a cool cactus though mine is yellow and here is Wisconsin I have to put it outside in the summer so maybe it will bloom this year, I hope. Tara

I was given a cacti that looks just like that. I haven't seen it in bloom yet so I have no idea what the bloom looks like. I was told that it has yellow blooms and blooms around Mothers day. Will wait and see.

Remember that Epiphyllum do not like to dry out completely like regular cacti, and they prefer a filtered sunlight, or at least mid-day shade. Plus, being epiphytic, they enjoy a good misting more than having their roots wet all the time. In other words, treat 'em like orchids! I've got about 10 of them getting ready to bloom outside right now.

Of course, whatever Fred is doing seems to be working just fine.

I do have a Pleiospilos nelii (Stone plant) getting ready to open its yearly flower, and a gasteria in full bloom. Will take some pics today.
