north american pitcher plant?

Real name? Who knows but that's what's on the tag.

I came across a bunch of these this past weekend....couldn't resist so I brought a couple home. Love the 'veining' on the top of the pitchers.

Neat. My husband likes them too. Never grown one though.

Excellent!! Thanks so much for the link! Looks like I'll be able to provide exactly what it needs...I'll just put it w/my orchid cactus over the winter and it should do great. Thanks again!

Yep....looks like you guys couldn't have passed them up either. I brought in a few hitch hikers when the 'chids came in and I figured they'd be perfect.

I found them a Meijer. I guess some of the stores are named Fred Meijer. They had an absolute ton of them!

these things are very cool; the botanic garden in atlanta has bunches of them planted outside.

one morning i came in to work, and the cut-flowers-of-the-week on the reception desk were this type of pitcher plant. very weird looking. (they've also had some arrangements with absolutely FABULOUS cyms in them--i'll have to ask who the florist is.)

How unusual. Last month I bought two pitcher hanging basket plants "Nepenthes Alata", and finally hung them out side (I had them in the dining room window over my orchids) but they smelled pretty bad (like garbage that someone forgot to take out).

Yours are really pretty.

Thanks! I had never seen anything like it so...had to bring some home. I have a Nepenthes (not sure which) too. Another strange and yet pretty plant. I don't know if mine will make it inside over the winter but we'll see.
