What is the name of this orchid?

When in Holland, we visited the Orchideenhoeve in Flevoland once again. For those who don't know about the Orchideenhoeve (pronounced orchi-day-en-ho-va) it's acres of greenhouses of orchids only.

Can someone please identify the orchid in the attached photo? It was at the Orchideenhoeve but it was so busy that I was unable to ask staff to identify it. Later we visited friends who had two of them in their home but didn't know the name. In the photo, the blooms are draping but our friends' orchids' spikes were upright and shorter.

Thanks
Sue

Dear Sue,

Though it is unusual and beautiful, and though I do not know exactly what it is, I can safely say it is not an orchid.

OK - thanks. I just assumed that because it was at the Orchideenhoeve that it was an orchid.

I've never seen it before but it's very pretty. What does the leaves/plant look like? It looks like it's a big plant.

Thank you so much evagentry! I found it on google at davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/62134/ and that is indeed the plant. Now to try to find one in Ontario!
