| Patlee, I know a friend that moved in to a new home and had her husband tear all the roses out of the yard. She can't deal with the thorns. Thanks for the compliment. I do enjoy all plants. Orchid girl. Yes, I love all flowers really. The only thing with roses is I have scratch marks from the thorns all the time. It's a painful hobby. I would love to see your roses. One day I need to sneak over to a house in my neighborhood and take pictures of the roses they have. It's amazing! I mean tons and tons of them filling up her front yard. They look perfect. No faded ones or spotted leaves. Wonder what the secret is. Mine is always battling powdery mildew, black spot, and rust. How about you? Any problems?

| Beautiful! I think the red with the cream is Double Delight. I have a couple roses in the back yard, but no blooms yet, our weather is kind of weird. It is still not spring yet. I just got some dahlia bulbs and will have to wait a bit before planting them. I bet the fragrance in your yard is wonderful!

| You're right April. It is Double Delight and it smells so goooood! I also have Sterling which is a lavender colored done that smells especially good too. I have 25 names and the rest I don't know. I just wrote the names down and now I don't know which is which. It's kinda hard to label rose bushes. ![]()

| It was nice to see your roses, they are almost impossible to grow in SW Florida. At best the plants are scraggly and flowers last only one day. I photographed this rose bud as it opened at 10AM and it was dead by 4 PM.

| solay: I believe your hands are MAGICAL I love flowers and plants but as patlee said the seasons do not cooperate with us here as they do in your part of the world Please post as many photos as possible. We can , at least, enjoy the beauty from far. Excellent garden.

| I have the black spot problem with the leaves easpecially on my orange color one. It seems it always gets attacked first. Aphids always attack at the first of the blooming season...then I get out my seven-dust. I haven't had any problems with the powdery mildew.
