| Gardenia growing in the home For years and through way to many Gardenia plants than I wish to count I have tried and tried to grow a Gardenia in a pot. I am wondering if anyone has had any success with this plant growing it outside in the summer (I live in Maine) and getting it to live through the winter inside. Actually I haven't even had any luck with them outside in the summer. I know they are "finiky" plants but there must be some basic element I am missing. Any ideas/help will be greately appreciated before I lay out yet more cash for one of these beautiful plants. Al |

| Thanks Debbie and Jan, at least I know I'm not the only one. LOL Guess I'll pass on one again this year, it's just that they call to me when I walk by the bench full in a greenhouse! AL |

| I know what you mean! Especially when the're in bloom, the fragrance just draws you in. I guess you could buy the florist plants and just pretend they are a dozen roses. When they fade just trash 'em.
