Huge Mushrooms on logs

There are many large mushrooms growing on the logs which have mounted ferns on them. The largest is more than 15cm wide. They seem to sprawl over the surface.

Any harm in leaving them there?

Are they growing because of a). lack of light, 2). high humidity, 3). lack of air circulation or 4). something else?

(The logs are sitting in a thin layer of water in a large plastic tray)

Thank you.

Makes sense. They are located in a least-cared-for section of the growing area.

Thanks.

You're welcome, just don't eat em. Or you could end up in la la land.

WIB is on a distinguished road
I think they're kind of picturesque. I can't imagine there would be any harm in leaving them there. They might do something good for the ferns. When I first looked at the middle picture, I thought it was the brown sterile frond of a staghorn fern, but they're fungi.

definitely your normal log-rotting fungus, I can't imagine it hurting anything in the area, other than speeding up the decomposition of your log.

enjoy?

Thank you robb and WIB.

I think I have grown to like them

They are not stinky nor mushy.

I will let them grow as long as the spores won't hurt the other orchid mediums.
