Spider mites!

I have found spider mites in my garden!
what do they do? how do I get rid of them?

If there your garden its tricky, Depending on what their on, you can pull up all the infected stuff and burn it

but if its good plant stuff you can get sprays to use.

But as there loose in your garden its harder to deal with. Keep all your orchids inside for safety.

you claim to have spider mites yet in another thread you are asking for a picture of spider mites

I think you should be the one posting a pic then we can advise you as to what the pest is and how to treat the pest.

I just cut down a tall patch of scrub oak that was upwind of my open coldframe. I am slowly going around my yard close to my greenhouse looking for which plants are carriers of spider mites and removing them. Columbine was a bad carrier of them. Good luck on your efforts. Just remember, if the plants near your orchid plants are not infected, then don't worry about the rest of your garden, as nature usually keeps the number down. But with orchids, you prefer not to have any.
