Water Hyacinth

The water hyacinth (Eichornia crassipes) bloomed today. It is a beautiful purple inflorescence.

Wow Pikevi that is beautiful!

I was going out to grab some from a local waterway to increase the natural filtration of my new pond when I was told that if caught by the DHR it was a manditory prison sentence!

Evidently they are taking things very serious here! The dealers are on the corner sellin crack, but don't touch the flowers! (life in a third world state)

I can understand the fines... That stuff has been known to completely cover small lakes in a season... Pretty but dangerous!
