Anthurium flowers getting smaller

Hi all. I have an Anthurium red hot that I have had for about four years. It's doing great and is nice and full and continues to grow. It's still in the same pot that I started it in. My question is: the flowers seem to have gotten smaller in size over the years. Is this normal? I assumed they would get bigger over the years. Do you think maybe the plant is cramped? Should I repot? I really have never done any research on growing these since this one has always done so well.

I think Anthuriums require a lot of aeration for the roots. And they require quite a lot of organic materials in the soil mix too .

I just repotted two Anthrium reds. I used lots of peat moss, sand and barks.

In my case they find it hard to survive the winter months even if they are kept indoors. I will post a photo of the flower if and when it flowers.

I recently acquired an Anthrium draconopterum with which I am having some difficulty . I hope I can save it. It wwas a pricey too. $35cdn for a tiny 2.5 leaves. The unopened leaf promptly dried out

Try and make the soil as porous as possible.

There is an anthurium enthusiast here but I guess he has not been online for sometime, I guess. I asked him for some advice but no response yet.

Goodluck.

Thanks Pikevi. It is probably high time for a repot, so I will try and give it some more porous medium and a little more breathing room. It seems happy, just smaller.
