I found a new stapelia

I'm always looking out for new and different plants. I found this guy at a road side plant place we've been visiting here and there when we're on the east coast.

That's one is awesome!!
If a piece ever comes loose or breaks off I'll trade for it or buy it.
The other cacti/succlent cuttings you sent me last year are doing great but no blooms on any yet .

That ones a beauty, the markings are incredible. A mixture of beauty, decay and the obscene.

Here is the bloom on the other small one I have.
I found a new stapelia-stapelia-yellow-flower.jpg The other one is the big stinker.
They do root easily. I snapped off a piece for my cousin in Vero. I'm sure it'll do well. Shoot! She's grown desert roses from seed!!

Lovely. I kill cactus though. Wish I didn't as I love them.

What a perfect description.

I don't have any of these, but they fascinate me.

Both of them are wonderful Lynne.

Stap. variagata

Hi Lynne, your plant beats any of the stapelias I have had the pleasure of growing. What a find! I would offer my S.variagata when the flower was fully open for people to smell the lovely frgrance. I think I may have made some enemies. Thanks for the share.

Bill

That is a good point. I haven't smelled it yet. I'll do that tomorrow.
I've also been picking up some Rhipsalis. I have three different ones now. I also have a number of epiphylyms (sp?); all cuttings from Solay. They are doing great. I only lost two. I like the succulents too.

It reminds me of melted milk chocolate and Hershey's Kisses (you know, the striped kind). Yummm.
