Thanks for that link. I find carnivore plants very interesting and I am trying to keep a few alive.

I really like this blog The Pitcher Plant Project | Sarracenia Addiction . I hope it's ok to post it.

I had a sarracenia purpurea once that was very cool but I couldn't keep it alive.

Those striped hybrids the article talked about sound very neat.

I bought my first, a purple pitcher plant, last week and just ordered a butterwort. Will be a new adventure.

You will enjoy the new carnivores Leafmite!! the butterwort will attract any soil gnats..it is amazing how many can stick to it, and the plant, once it gets going will make babies constantly, kind of like bromeliad pups, easy to separate, and put in new pots of spagnum...
The pitcher is a great one also, the tubes are so pretty, and grow well usually with a fly once in a while...I love my little collection

Hmmmm, I am thinking that i might have to by some carnivorous plants come spring. They look great and are an effective way to ft rid of pests.

Thanks for the links! I'm a carnivore fancier along with being an orchid and epiphyte addict. I guess I just like plants that are different, just like the people I like.

if you ever find yourselves in atlanta in the warm seasons, go to the botanic gardens; besides a *fabulous* orchid house, they have tons of pitcher plants outside the conservatory. (and a very neat agave collection, too. )
