Very pretty. I think it might be easier with orchids... and wouldn't weigh so much.. hmmmmm.... I have always thought that doing a wreath with grape vines and some miniature mounted orchids would be cool. First I want to make sure I can keep mounted orchids happy tho.

Very cool, but if it weighs a ton, where are you going to hang it. And then watering it might be problematic. How about putting on an easel outside?

Great job, Lynne! You've got a real eye for the textures and colors. I recently saw a photo of a freeway overpass somewhere...France I think?...anyway it was all done with living plants. Very cool.

| I think I saw that BH&G article. You did a really nice job on yours. Unlike some of the magazine's subjects, I'l bet yours will still be thriving in a years time! Tony

Cool! I saw that article just yesterday. I like the easel idea. Although, there are mounts available for very large/heavy art...maybe you could look into something like that.

I agree...you definitely have a good eye for textures and colors. Your landscaping proves that. It's beautiful! Well done!

Thanks everyone. I think the easel is a very good idea. It can't be exposed to all the rain we've been having so it needs to be under the eave of the house. Once it dries out it should not be quite as heavy. It'll be tricky getting a hanger put on it. As usual I plowed right into the project and didn't put a hanger on first. I'm hoping it grows well. I'm sure some things won't take and it will need occasional tweaking. I've got enough plants left to revamp an overgrown dish garden and may try another, smaller frame for a second one. A while back I posted some pictures from Epcot of living walls and we wanted to try that. I never checked into finding the material for it. They used a thick foam that they cut slits into to plant the plants. They were beautiful. (and probably very well tended to keep them looking so nice) |

I saw a building in Paris I think where its facade was all plants! It was so cool! Unfortunately I was on a tour bus so I couldn't stop and check it out.
