Tiger-tail 'orchid'

Apparently in the Congo, where these are native, they are sometimes called the Tiger-tail Orchid.

Of course its the good old sanseveria, but, first time I have ever seen one bloom!

They are common in the gazillions here! Every Dr's office has one, so it seems. I grow mine inside a shady part of my house, but stuck it outside. Seems to like the heat!

Mother-in-law's tongue and snake plant are two names I have heard are common, I call it snake plant. I;m no expert tho.

When it bloomed, I looked it up and was surprised to see another name was tiger-tail orchid hehe. Bit of fun this morning.

I put mine out on my deck. It gets a fair bit of hot sun, and the temps this summer have been tropical to say the least. Its also 5-6 years old. Hope that helps.

WOW!! I'm glad you posted this. Here's one that I have it's called sansevieria cylindrica, it's cool, it's been out all summer and doing great. I potted up a piece and now it has 3 pups or whatever you call them, google it, see what a great plant it is. Jonada if you come back to this post let me know if you want a piece of this plant.... Jim.

Gosh, I have a mother-in-law tongue too! Never knew it was also a orchid! How cool. It has not bloomed yet but is sure growing tall.
