Can you name these pretties?

Hubby and my little girl came in today with early mother's day presents. He thought this first one was a bird of paradise. Nope, its some kind of lily I think? Its pretty though, the other looks so familiar but I cant even name it. If you can read japanese maybe this can help you some on it.

They even came in with an orchid in a gnome..... Its a pretty Phal. but alas, a NOID..... so sad......

Can't read Japanese but the 1st photo is a Gloriosa. The 2nd is a Bromeliad but maybe someone who knows Broms better can narrow it down.

Thanks so much Andrew. I totally am digging the Gloriosa. I need to figure out if I need to replant this thing or not. Never had either plant but excited that I got them.

Yep, Emmaye, they got me an NOID phal. inside a gnome that is cute, and a begonia too. I may get a couple of identified phals in a couple of weeks. lol.

ditto that the second one is bromeliad. the first one looks to be a type of lily - either way, very pretty!

That's a Gloriosa lilly.

Make sure neither your kids nor your pets handle the rhizomes.

I think the second one is called curcuma, which is a type of tropical ginger.

Plain beautiful.
Steam, can you share a picture of the whole plant? I'm talking about the Gloriosa. Just curious!

Here is a photo. It is the one with the rounded trellis inside the pot. Its slowly dying back. I should have some seeds from this one soon too. I was lucky enough to get a lot of seed pods set up on it before the flowers died.
