amaryllis / african violet blooms

Some cool plants that just bloomed the amaryllis flower span is 6.5 inches!!! Recieved the bulb as an xmas gift; potted it up and now we have 4 blooms with another 4 on way
Never grew them before and they are a lovely surprise and a great addition The african violet has been around in the collection for a number of years and the blooms are always a nice treat!!!

i bought 3 amaryllis bulbs on xmas clearance this year. one was supposed to be the color of yours. i somehow ended up with 3 solid red ones

but i think they're so pretty, even if the flowers don't last very long.

I have one amaryllis bulb which I bought from a flower shop a few years ago, all I have been getting is leaves. No flowers. Don't know which colour I have. Yours are lovely, and so is the african violet. I have not done well with those either
Thanks for sharing.

I've heard this a few times that they tend to be red
They sure are pretty though and very large blooms even if they don't last long as you mention

Can't really provide advise; I just threw it in a pot with soil and it took off, the african violet I've noticed prefers a bit more light to sustain blooms. When I first got it the plant it had developed buds that died off, Imoved it to a bit more light and it has bloomed nicely since!
