hi Janet I love your avator pic. The hippys that I have I dont have two of the same plants. I must admitt that come winter time here I will have a few young plants to take off the mother plant and repot on. I keep all my hippyastrems in a hot house because it can get pretty cold in Tassie.

yes, mine are all in my kitchen because it's too cold over the winter in maryland; i used to put them out on the deck over the summer but they got blown over and got bugs and the squirrels would bury things in the pots so i gave up. now they're just houseplants. let me see....i posted a pic on here of one i grew from seed... amaryllis see if that works.

its a nice plant to. In one way I am lucky with my hippy,s I only bring them in when they flower. I keep them in the hot house all the time and on hot days i just turn the fan up. In summer I water them 3 times a week when summer is over I water them now and again untill it starts to get cold then I stop the water untill almost spring. I repot the hippy,s in winter also planting on the young plants.
