| two new house plants
I've two new house plants both of which I've had before but put them out one summer in too much sun and they died. They are: 1). Mitriostigma axillare (African Gardenia), 2). Murraya paniculata. Might anyone please be kind enough to give me info on these? They are growing amongst my catts which have S-S/W exposure with sheer curtains. The Mitrostigma is loaded with buds and flowers which smell heavenly at night but the Murraya does not have any buds. Any insight? Thanks, Lee |

Search for information on PlantFiles: The Largest Plant Identification Reference Guide - Dave's Garden - I found some information there. I don't grow either, but hope this helps.

G'Day Lee The Murraya you have is also known commonly as "Mock Orange" here in Australia, and in some parts is classed as a weed. I just looked down the back as there is a big one growing there (12 feet odd) but it is not in flower at the moment. If you go to Weeds Australia - Weed Identification - Murraya this site it will tell you all about it. Cheers Bernie

| Murraya
Hey Berniep, I frequently speak with some friends in Vic. Good to speak with another Aussie. Where I live in Mississipi they'd never survive our winters so we must grow them inside during the cold months but I love the fragrance. My question is: do they suffer from chlorisis as some plants do. If so, how do I prevent/correct it? Thanks, Lee |
