Tillandsia aroutii and a few other new ones

We found these first three at a recent farmers' market in Vero Beach.
I only have a name for the one.

I too love the ball! The purple is stunning!

I'm trying to grow one into a ball...I tied a mama and her babies onto a fishing line...fingers crossed in a few years that I have a nice and full "ball".

Nice pick ups!

At the Botanical garden, they had a display area where they hung them on fishing line. There would be a plant about every foot or so on a 5 or 6 foot line. A large fishing weight (like the triangle surf ones) was tied to the end to keep it taut. It was neat looking. I don't know whether to do separate mounts for each plant for group some together, or maybe try the fishing line.

Very unique. Never saw them before. All very lovely.

Are those plants also called air plants?

Heather
