down under help needed

anyone from down under care to help me with this?
I got it last week, i have one in the garden that it is yellow and 2m tall and i know got this in a pot. I've been told the name in Greek a couple of times and i forgot it again (a really long name). I've been told it is an Australian plant so at least anyone from Australia could identify it with the english name?

G'Day Stelios

WE call them Kangaroo paws, they are native to western Australia. If you can't find the Greek name let me know and I'll look it up.

Cheers
Bernie

Most of the Anigozanthos you'll find on the market are either A. flavidus or A. flavidus hybrids (I suspect your plant is probably the latter). The ANPSA website gives some good culture info on kangaroo paws.

here's a great little garden plot on the University of Melbourne campus that has 4 different sizes/colours of Kangaroo Paw. They're one of my favorite native flowers.
