They are still considered babies for me lol.
I bought them as 1-2 in fishes, now they are around 4-6 inches lol!
I just added the small one too

they're very cute! it's amazing how soothing it is to have fish, isn't it? our neighbor has koi in a pond. the pond isn't very deep as it is long and wide and fish are just absolutely gorgeous.

look forward to that some day

Neat. We are not tropical fish people, but I admire those of you that are committed to that. It seems like a lot of hard work, knowledge and commitment . Actually, we did stock our rural pond with bass, bream and channel cats. We put out fish food when we go there. Which has not been often enough lately really. We are way overdue for a visit and a grass mow. I can only hope the ecosystem we strived for has taken hold and the bass have a food supply with baby bream, or bugs , frogs and the like. They are carnivores. The others will eat whatever, so I don't worry about them as much.
We've seen little schools of bream on our visits. I'd still like to get some natural minows in the mix.

It's good to see photos of Koi.

They are illegal to own here due to the destruction they have caused to our waterways when released.

Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful Koi, your very brave, they grow massive in size!!! Someday I'll get back into setting up aquariums, building underwater ecosystems is lots of fun, yet time consuming.

Hi,
Nice Koi! I was going to re do my moms pond a couple years ago but after she broke her back and how limited the cage on her spine restricts her from doing a lot these days I will be filling it in and putting up a gazebo instead for her. I actually had the Koi already and had to take them back to the fish store like 5 months later. They got huge I was cleaning the 55 gal tank every other day, I had like 20 of them small at first lol. Found out the rule of thumb with Koi is 100 gal to 1 fish when big. All I could say was wow and my pond would have bearly contained them.
Thanks for sharing your fish they have such personality I miss mine.

Nice photos of your fish. I have a raised Koi pond and love to spend time just sitting, with glass of wine, on a summer evening watching the fish, so relaxing
