Those should give you a lot of nice color when the grow up.

Great early, very early, father's day present. When father's day comes around, she might forget and get you something else.

I am going to share a little something with you all
since I watered my hippy's and saw the start of my first flower spike for this season
my Father has been on my mind
for those that don't know my Father passed away about 6 years ago and my Father grew the hippy's when he passed away I was asked by my mother to take them home as I am the only family member that knows how to grow them
well to cut a long story short I left a few hippy's with my Mother as she wanted to try and grow a few in memory of Dad well my mother passed away almost 11 months ago and I then brought the hippy's she had back here to Tassie as well

it really is a wonderful feeling to keep these beautiful plants going for both my Dad and Mum

seeing the new growths just brought all this back

I am feeling pretty proud right now

I grow a lot of my Fathers plants I guess I am just a chip off the old block

Seems your doing a wonderful job caring for them. Can't wait to see the blooms. This is another plant I've admired but have never grown. Sooo many beautiful plants and blooms yet so little space and time. Sigh...

I know how you feel, I am like this with my NOID phal, it was the last thing I gave hubby before he passed away 14 years ago, and it is in flower at present. Although I love all of my orchids, this one will always be special.

My hippies are not showing any buds yet.

I thought living up in Queensland your Hippy's would be more advanced than mine

I do grow mine on the west side of my orchid house

I gave them another water today with diluted powerfeed in Rain water
I only water the potting soil
I don't get any water on the bulbs because they tend to rot

You certainly have a green thumb Fred. It's great to see your Hippys spiking again, especially as they mean so much to you. You certainly know how to show a "girl" a good time.

Thanks for sharing, waiting for the updates>>>>>>>>>>

I am sure your parents are proud of you taking such a good care of their plants along the new additions. I can't wait to see them in flower. Please keep us posted.
