Crown of Thorns Plant

Besides Orchid's I also have quite a few other house plants. This one is a Crown of Thorns Plant, blossoms most of the time year round.

That's one of my favorites. I used to have different colors, before my house froze a few years ago. Nice!!

Oh, I have 2 of those, a red and a white. I got them at the dollar store. I had no idea what they were called until now. I like them.

They are reliable bloomers alright. But thorny little buggers. I have repotted mine twice as it has grown but the last time is the final time as it is so hard to handle so it will have to make do. It is nearing three feet tall.

I love the color on that one!

I have a yellow one and my grandmother has a red one that I think I'll take a cutting from, but I've never seen one that shade of pink!

This thread popped up out of nowhere it seems. So timely though. My big, cool crown of thorns is toast from the freeze. Boo.

Crown of thorns

Imartiny

I have the crown of thorns planted in the front yard and they got hit with our cold snap,( and it looks like we are in for more ), but they have started to break out with new leaves, so I guess they can withstand cold and bounce back.

I'd not have thought of them to be in the Euphorbia family. Intereting.

Joe, I haven't given up yet. I'm not cutting anything back for another couple of weeks.

We all need patience right now, We had all the leaves come off our Shady Lady, and right now it has all new bright green leaves, so things are coming back to normal and the weather folks say it will finally break this weekend.....have faith
