First Flowering

Well the first of my 2 Den Dal's Delux x (Kiyomi Beauty x Nong-Kham Beauty) xx Hawaiin Beauty has flowered, and still waiting on bud #2 to open, but just had to share.

This is known as a 3/4 Palaenanthe Dendrobium.

My second one hasn't begun to grow an influorescence as yet, and hoping there may be more than 2 flowers on it..

I only wish I could get a camera to show the true color of it, as it is a deep magenta color which the photos don't do justice to.

I am getting a Canon D40 at work soon, so it should be a good test to see how closely it can record colors.

Oh, that's just awesome, Anton. The color is so rich that it makes the bloom look almost velvety. Truly a gorgeous flower. I'm so glad you wanted to share with us...You have done a great job

patlee in fact, it is a velvety texture, and as I mentioned, point n shoot cameras don't record this color range well as they have built in UV and Infrared filters on the chip, and as a result tend to mask "true" colors in the red and purple spectrum range.
