How long should I wait after repoting to breed orchids?

I am asking this because I have just repoted three Phalps and I wonder when I should start to breed them just give me a basic estiomate I'm not picky

you can do anytime when it is in bloom. The problem is can you wait 1 to 2 years for that
to bloom?

Hi Mallardman and welcome to the forum. I see you're in Michigan. I grew up there. You dont' have to wait a set amount of time after repotting to pollinate an orchid. In fact some types of orchids need to be repotted evey year which would make it difficult to pollinate if you had to wait for a time. Are you referring to a Phalaenopsis (Phal)? They should be repotted in spring after the bloom has faded and they typically flower in the winter/spring. Some varieties can flower just about any time and some are even sequential flowerers, nearly always in flower.

Sorry I forget to mention that I repoted the plants about 4 days ago and yes thay are Phalanopsis. Another thing I would like to mention is that these plants are currently still blooming I have three diffrent colored ones and I am planing to breed them(using Vitro/agar). Oh yeah if any of you guys know how long it takes for a Phalanopsis seed pod to be complete after pollination has occured please tell me.

five months before you can harvest them. After that you wait for 1 month for the seed to
germinate. 1 month you have to replate. 5 month before you can take it out of flask.
1 year before you can see flowers. Total?

2 years before you can see any flower, 1.5 years if you just want to see healthy leaves.
