| Wow! I'd better leave this one to the pros! I know that there are some good care sheets available from the AOS website. Good luck! Someone with more experiance than I will help you soon!

| the plant looks in very good shape - far from neglected. treat it as a bare root plant which is the way it is growing over the outside of the pot. There is no reason to remove the pot unless you wanted to devide the plant which is not necessary i would hang it back up in the tree and water and fertilize as normal. Then enjoy the flowers

| Your Cattleya looks gorgeous !!! Far from the problems that my Catt had. I would not mess with it. You have to read my thread "Inherited Issues". I received a species Catt that had all kinds of problems. Yours looks wonderful compared to mine. Sadly mine is now divided into smaller portions, but it is healthier and going to live.

| I agree with the others, especially Jerry when he suggests to let it continue doing exactly what it has been. I notice that even the oldest growths still have their leaves, this is a sing of good health. I'd try to grow it as close to the way it's previous owner grew it as possible. I can't wait to see a pic when it blooms!
