Leftover Soaked Bark

I decided to repot some phal and for 24 hours soaked more bark than what I need. What do you do with the leftover soaked bark? I hate to throw it away since i could use to repot maybe 2 - 3 more and I don't see more repotting in the couples of weeks.......

I just let it dry back out and I store it for the next time I repot.

Yes, lay it out on a large towel (or strips of paper towel work well) and just let it dry. Have done this a number of times and it works perfectly.

I've let it soak too long and I hit it with a splash of bleach and let it sit a bit. Then flush it with fresh water.

Hi, no problem really, I just put it back into the plastic bag it comes in, punch a few holes in the bag so air can get in and then store it back in my garage.
It will slowely dry our and can be re wet next time you need it, quiet often it does no completly dry out and often can be used without re-wetting it.
I do this all the time and never run into any problems , like mold etc.

Thank you Ron I have been doing this only using one of those plastic grocery bags and just tie it very loosely. This way I have some extra bark for when I knock a plant over and just need a handful. I do the same with my sphag and have had no issues at all.

My advice is to buy a few more plants so you can use it up right away!
