Question Just Repotted

I just re-potted a Phal. and got rid of a few dead roots. This was my first re-pot since I bought the orchid and I had to get rid of a few more roots than I was hoping, but the plant still has some strong roots so it should be fine.

I've read that the orchid should be put in an area of lower light than normal for a week or so to let the plant recover from being re-potted, but I'm wondering how much lower the light should be.

Right now all of my orchids sit in a bright, east-facing window and only get a couple of hours of direct light in the very early morning. Should I just put the orchid on a lower shelf so it's below the other orchids and doesn't get any direct morning light, or should I put it farther away from the window?

I think it will be fine either place - I've never had an issue after repotting by just placing mine back in their normal locations.

Fully agree with mayres; I repot and put them right back in same location

Do you continue your watering schedule as usual after you re-pot, or do you mist daily for a couple of weeks? I read somewhere that you should mist the plant rather than watering, but I want to ask the experts.

Hi, I repot and pot on Phallies nearly every week except in winter, they all go straight back on the bench were they come from.
They will kick start the new grow quiet quickly after re-potting.
Warmth is most important at this time.

Be a bit careful with the watering after re-potting for a couple of weeks, do not let the medium dry out, but keep just moist, as soon as the roots start to grow go back to normal way of looking after them.
Again warmth is most important at this time of growing

I'm so excited. This plant has sulked since I repotted it last month, but today I noticed it is finally growing some new roots. Yipee!

*Excuse the quality of the photo. I took it w/ my phone.
