I repotted the Den. amethystoglossum

I decided to try spiking it upwards to train it some. (Per some reccs) I liked the wild, natural look, but it is unwieldy, and does take up a lot of space. (and fell over all the time) This is what I could manage for now without damaging something.
When I unpotted it, it was clearly recently put into a 6 In. pot. The center is a solid mass of 2x2 square roots. I stuck the whole lot into an 8 in. pot which is a bit big, but so be it.

What a healthy looking plant, I have one also, it had one small spike this year(first bloom).I keep mine growing upwards too, it takes up less space this way.

Nice! I always have tried to get out as much medium from the root mass as I could. did you do that or did you just remove the outer medium and then pot it up? I might have to do that next time; it's such a pain trying to remove all the medium when you a tight mass of roots.

Nice job, I know they are easier to care for that way, but the natural spread is appealing to me. That's why I like to mount mine and let them go where they want. But it is much more work that way.

Anyways, it looks really good, nice and healthy!

Thanks for the comments everyone. I was really torn between the natural flow of the plant vs. a more manageable plant. Synda; I did not mess with the roots. They were just too tight. I gave up trying to do that. I just repot like I do any other plant.
