repotting my Paph

I have decided to repot this noid Paph of mine that is too crowded already in its container and media needs a good change as lower leaves are quite in distress, either as older leaves often do or it is just that the media has gone bad already. So now I got three containers from the original one. Just wanted to show how the plant looked like before and after, and also showing how Paph roots look like. It is not similar to Phal roots definitely, so be very careful not confusing them as dead roots, coz they are not. I am using bark mix and some coco husk chips for the new media. Glad I repotted this plant as there are plantlets showing either near the base of the plant or near the opposite end of the roots.

Root condition seems to show that you did the right thing - don't see many live growing root tips there. Picture #5 looks like (?) a leggy growth with root nubs forming up the side of the plant. If this is true, indicates the plant needs more light - our society received a supply of young plants like this a few years back - pinched off the plant below the nubs and planted in small pots as separate plants and allowed the remaining leaves of the original plant to send up new growths as part of the original plant growth process - quick duplication.

Hi Everyone - I need advice on repotting my Milt. I've had it for about a year now and it looks to me that it's getting crowded in it's current 4.5" pot but I just wanted some advice from members of this forum. I think they like to be snug in their pot but is this too snug? This is my first Milt and so I've never repotted one and don't want to screw it up. I've posted 4 pics below. Any advice on how to repot, whether I need to divide, recommendations on medium and any other advice would be appreciated!

Actually that's a question I've wondered. Why do some root tips go blind like that?

I have it happen to some but not others. Is it normal?

It looks like a very healthy and happy looking plant.
