Orchid deflasking results

Hi,

Just thought I would show you one example of my deflasking efforts. I have been getting a lot of success flasking individually rather than into compots. Not everyone likes that and I think that whatever works for them is fine, everyone has different techniques and if it works then why not......??? I decided to take a photo of these as I was so happy with the plants and the fact I didn't lose any.

So here is Ctt Japanese Beauty 'Sakura' which is a mericlone. 35 plants came from the flask and 35 plants survived, generally I find I would normally get 90% success rate (except for Phrags for some reason I haven't worked out yet). I have sold and given away some plants and I think I have about 28 left. Most of them had 3 or more growths and some had as many as 7 growths. One flowered in the 2 inch pot as well. Anyway here are some photos, the potting mix is about 50/50 bark and perlite.

Here is an example of one of the better seedlings:

Here are all the plants in the tray before repotting. This is how they grew from flask.

After taking all the plants out of the individual pots, the roots are dirty but healthy.

Their new homes.

Yes they have all taken off now and have new growths. I am praying that once the growths mature that they all put out flowers........well most of them anyway. They seem to flower fairly small.

Ooooh, all of them blooming at once would be an amazing display! And if they're fragrant ... YUM! ^_^
