Something to worry about?

I have just picked up this paph delophyllum on sale at my local nursery. The only catch is that I have noticed these dark spots on the leaves. (They kind of resemble cigarette burns.) There are also some striations in the leaves (that are still green on the leaves in the picture but are browning on 1 or 2 other leaves). I guess my question is...

Is this anything to be worried about? Could it just be the scars from former mistreatment or is it probably an active problem?

Thanks,

Greg

Hi Greg,

My sedirea japonica has one black spot on a leaf when I bought it in February. It's still there...more of a nuisance. However, since it's rather hard to tell from your picture, someone else who's an "expert" may think otherwise about the black spots.

If it doesn't start spreading I wouldn't worry about it. Looks like a great plant! mike

Overall the plant looks good. The dying yellow leaf on the bottom is natural you will always lose some, but I do not see anything that looks like it is spreading.
