| Will this Brassia Verrucosa survive?
I am worried about this orchid that I won on ebay. It arrived to me very dry and shriveled. I immediately watered it. One of the bulbs looks fine and is not shriveled. The other two are shriveled and one is brown. Should I remove the brown shriveled one or leave it? I also discovered this morning that it has some scales on it. Your plant is severely dehydrated, but it will recover. I may get a pounding on this , but I would not remove the psbulb with the browning. I would let it naturally die back. This is energy stored and with the plant being this dehydrated, it needs all the energy it can get. As for the scales, you can buy some Bayer 3-in-1 and treat it or treat with the cinnamon recipe that we have on the forum (Brookn's Recipe). Definitely let the vendor know about the scale and the condition that the plant came in.

dont worry this look good to me. Older back alway look like that. It is the new bulb that look good. You might want to give it sufficient light and fertilizer since new growth has already started growing. Did you pot this or it came potted? I would give the new bulb lot of leg room. |
