| I found it a Super walmart here. I did find it at a health store but it was for holistic use and was a very small amount for a lot more money. I would check Walmart, also try calling or asking coworkers or neighbors if they have some you can use.

| It is probably the soap in the recipe that is killing the pests rather than the cinnamon. If you can't find the extract, use the soap or regular rubbing alcohol - both will kill mealies. Without a systemic pesticide, you will have to watch and treat the plants daily for a long time. Eggs can hatch out willy nilly with no time table on how long they survive before hatching. Treat every nook and cranny on the plants and eventually you can win the battle. Just be prepared for a long battle. I received a phal six weeks ago and mounted it immediately. Two days ago I noticed a white spot in between two of the leaves. Peeking out at me a young mealie - it was so deep between the leaves waiting to crawl out I couldn't even wedge an alcohol dipped Q-tip. The eggs waited all that time to hatch. I now am monitoring the plant twice a day because I don't want a major infestation. Brooke |

| Make Brookn's recipe and just eliminate the cinnamon until you find it. Alcohol is used straight out of the bottle. Without a systemic pesticide, you will be battling them for a l-o-n-g time. Every time you think you are free of them a latent egg will hatch and you will find a new mealie just waiting to lay eggs again. Brooke |

| In a grocery store in a city about 60 miles south of us. I emailed the company and asked where to buy it in Ontario, and they gave me a list of stores they sell to, just had to find one that actually ordered it in.

| No - it's the soap. Cinnamon is an antibacterial, though the 'bite' of cinnamon may discourage the little bastards. Here's a recipe for insecticidal soap: 1 part rubbing alcohol; 3 parts water; 1 tbsp dish soap (or any liquid soap; I use Dr Bronner's peppermint when fighting aphids because the peppermint oil burns their mouthparts and discourages revisits. I've excellent success with this formula on my fuchsia, but it did take reapplying every three days for a week or so).

| Cinnamon extract is the key ingredient. For Brookn's recipe. When I experimented with it, I used less or more of the ingredients and got different results. When I used the same amount of extract and more soap it killed some bugs but not all. It did nothing for the snails or slugs. BUT When I added a little more (not much more!) extract Now I use it as a pretreat for every plant that I buy and as a preventative wash for all the orchids that I have.
