| Will it be ok? Well my Neofinetia falcata x Asctm Miniatum came in the mail. My grandma unpacked it so I have no idea what it looked before she watered it. She watered it and got water in between the leaves and crowns then out it in the spare bathroom without any light and no air flow. It has spots on some of the leaves and lost several leaves. I don't know if it came like that though but I wonder if this could happen over a day and a half. I hope it will be ok. I soaked them in Brookn's recipe and took a qtip between the leaves. One piece lost the newest leaf growth to rot. Will that stop growing new leaves like a crown rot in a phal? There ws alos some moldy green stuff on one of the leaves that fell off and on the base where the leaves fell off from. It was potted in charcoal and bark upon arrival. I felt better after repotting it but am still worried it might not make it. What do you think, any suggestions? Here are the pictures:

| Did you repot both parts? They will probably live, just have some setbacks. Use peroxide first for rot then cinnamon. Peroxide works miracles on that black crap. Now that it is potted, it won't hurt to pour peroxide down into the medium to clean the roots, and it will make those roots or lack of much happier. Say it with me, what will be will be, and now a deep cleansing breath in through the nose, and out through the mouth. .

| Thanks Brookn. I know it's not her fault I forgot to mention not getting the leaves wet and putting it somewhere with light and air flow. I will definitely make good use of the peroxide, I potted both together, I keep telling myself "it will be ok just take good care of it, it will get better eventually, lol!" I really want to see this thing bloom and grow.

| Ah well, even if you had she probably would have done the same thing. It's hard to know these things if you don't grow them. I am thinking it may have had issues before she got hold of it anyway. A couple of days of bad culture can do some damage, but if it were even slightly unhealthy that would contribute to it's downfall.

| I think it had those little black spots on the leaves when it was shipped. I am thinking they shipped it really wet in a dark box. She said it was very dry but I don't if her version of very dry and my version of very dry are the same thing, lol! Either way I don't think I will buy from that seller again. The price was low $11.50 so if I loose it it won't be too big a dent in my pocket.

| No that's true 11.50 is cheap, and still worth saving. I almost bid on that one myself.

| lol, I really didn't expect this to happen but I'll see if I can make it better. Its the ones you put the most work into that are the most rewarding

| I really wonder if it was partially like that already. A day or two, at least to me, shouldn't have gotten the plant in that state. However, I think everything will be fine as long as you stay on it. On a side note, you pot your Neos well!

| I got at a nursery here in Indy for 1.99 a piece they only had a few left but I can go see if they have any left or they can get more in or if they ship out. I know they had a round purple one. I also have a green one on my Den Cathy Beck too! Check my Cathy Beck thread. It's super cute! PM me and I'll let you know what they have if you want some I can ship it to you.

| Not a neo expert b a long shot, but I think you got shipped a plant in sad shape. I don't think a day or so or bad treatment would make them go downhill that fast - mine is surviving me, after all!! Also, another vote for terrific job of repotting and excellent pot choice. Your repotting makes it look about 10000% better and healthier!

| Expect the worst and hope for the best. I think it'll do fine eventually. IMO, Neos are very hardy and not easily killed to begin with. Hopefully it'll make a full recovery.

| Thanks for the mentioning the potting, lol! I finally got some of the long cut sphagnum moss and boy does it make a world of difference and is much easier to work with. Once I repotted it made me feel alot better. It does look cute! I am thinking the plant was in sad shape too when it got shipped. A lady my grandma worked with said she came over and was looking at it and that leaf with the moldy stuff on it was already like that. I have been putting peroxide and cinnamon spray on it. The one with the crown rot looks better and the rot has dried up but the other one still looks pretty sad and hasn't gotten better or worse. I did loose a teeny tiny leaf from the base of one fan today though
