Any ideas about this?

Hey all, I have a few questions about two orchids I own - both vandaecous types.

The first one is a semi small seedling still, I have it and three others attached to a nice peice of teak wood. They have developed a complex root system, and seem healthy enough, but two of them have turned a rather odd shade of color. They picked it up while my father took care of them when I was away for a couple months or so. I am not sure what happened, but here are two images of the leaf coloration:

Here is a closer view:

The second orchid has developed a different type of problem. It has spots and no other obvious problems. I am not sure what it is, but like the other orchid, it seems healthy otherwise, with a developing root system that doesn't seem bothered by it.

Any help into what this might be is very appreciated!

Actually.... I wouldn't really call these problems. The red tinge and the freckles are a respnse to high light levels. These plants are adapted to high levels of light, and do better that way. Some of that darker spotting around the leaf edges may indicate too much light, but the freckles and the slight red tinge means that the plant is getting enough light.

I agree with made4enginearing about the light levels. It looks like the second one may have gotten that from having wet leaves at night or something. Don't hold me to that though! I think the others member may be able to give a better description though.

Thanks for the replies! I was never sure if it actually was a problem, as I don't notice any adverse side effects, so that explanation makes perfect sense to me.

I also updated my location, but I was living in southern Florida, and moved to Georgia during the winter, and that is when my father took care of my vandas, since I didn't have the right growing spaces for them setup yet. (If that sheds any more light on my situation.)
