Dragons Blood

Can anyone explain how, and why dragons blood is used for orchids. Is it used systemically, topically, or both?

Dragons blood (sangre de drago) - has been used as a natural remedy. I have heard of some using it to fight fungus and rot in orchids.

Wow, I just finished reading the link. It was great and thanks for finding it Jay. I didn't know what it was or what it was for. Very informative indeed.

Not an April Fools Joke. I have heard of orchid enthusiasts using it to treat rot/fungus.

You do have to be careful. As someone mentioned above, some consider it a poison. Some think it can cure cancer, some thinks it can cause cancer. I would do more research before using it on anything.

I just wanted to add the link so that you could see there are many possible uses.

I like the idea of using it as a blood coagulator. Might grow this stuff as a natural Band-Aid.

Thanks a lot Jay for taking the time to answer and provide the informative link. I had read about Dragons Blood somewhere ( not here I guess ) and thought someone on this forum might have had some experience with it.
