itsy bitsy spiders

I have lots of these little things in the greenhouse, making their little webs between leaves and trunks. The webs are often only 1" across, have to look hard to see the spider. I figure they are after the little flies and am wondering what, if any, effect they might have on the orchids.

There aren't that many flies available as a couple of flytraps and two carnivorous plants have been doing a good job all summer.

Maybe it's just that time of year?

Hi SB, Can you post a pic of your tenants? Might be able to ID them.

Bill

I'll give it a try, but I think (since I don't have a macro lens) we'll be lucky if we see specks.

back later today....

Might be spiderlings hatching. There are some that hatch out this time of year and overwinter.

Took a picture, but just look at the period at the end of this sentence and you have an idea. Will those little webs be detrimental to the plants?

Sounds like Spider Mites. Are they red little specks? If so, then that is them.
