| Help, My cattleya's pseudobulbs are turning light brownish with a light yellow green tint to them. What's going on it scares me. My 18 month old son grabed one of the leaves on day and kinda manhandled it a little and it seems as though it started after that. The leaf in question turned very dry then it became riddled with large black specks and then proceded to fall of it is ,however, the only leaf that has fallen off, now as I said before a few of the pseudobulbs have begun to change unhealthy colors the whole plant, however, is not destressed looking. Can anyone help me? |

| Often when leaves die they can get kind of nasty looking. Your son might have injured the leaf and it took a while to bite the dust. If the bulbs are firm I think there's nothing to worry about. They may just be getting more sun as the days get longer and the sun gets stronger. If they're getting soft, cut them away from the plant and dust the cut with cinnamon. Make sure you cut away all the soft tissue from the rhyzome. |
