| FRED! Put your glasses on, I can see it. Generally the little ones are the baddies, I am not sure what that one is as I live in Australia, but to me, it looks like it may be a predator looking for some sushi. Cynthia may be able to shed some light on what it is.

Although I can't see the bug properly, and I have no idea of the size, I am going to stick my neck out. I think it is a mosquito; it has the typical look of one of those bl%%$y things that plagued me for years in various corners of the globe. The worst I ever had the displeasure of meeting was in Cold Lake, Alberta. Things with a six inch spike that was inserted into any area of uncovered flesh. Sorry folks, just got carried away. But I stand on my opinion until proven otherwise. Bill

it does look something like a mosquito. I would say, if it's just a single insect, then it could just be passing by and investigating. (I'd stop and investigate a psychopsis bloom too). No harm. However, if there are several or more and they won't leave the plant or bloom alone, then it's time for action.

Bug Hi, I contacted my bug expert and she has ID'd your bug. It is a Damsal Bug. It is a predator & lays its eggs in aphis etc. Its a good bug. don't kill it. If it bothers you catch it & release it in your garden.

auh too bad. i found another one today and killed it too. But good news since I found two means there is probably more.. I will let them go out side. have to say they look kinda interesting.

I think most predator bugs have chewing mouth parts , not sucking mouthparts...this kinda looks like a bug that sucks out juices from plants.. better be safe than sorry..
