Pock-marked phal leaves

I received a NOID phal for Christmas, and just noticed last night that the most recent leaf is covered with, for lack of a better work, pock marks. I've never seen that on any other plants. I don't know if it was like that when I got it, but I think I would've noticed if it was. None of my other orchids have this condition. Perhaps my search terms are imprecise, but I've found nothing like it on this forum or via Google images. Can anyone tell me what causes this, and whether I should be concerned about this plant's (or any other plants') health? Thanks in advance for any info!

Sorry, I don't know, but I hope someone who does chimes in. I have one with very similar marks.
I thought it was mites or scale. Whatever it is, I sprayed with soapy water and it seems to stop spreading to other leaves or plants.

Maybe spider mites. Take a damp paper towel or tissue and wipe the leaves. If you see orange specks on the paper, they're most likely mites which you may be able to see with a magnifying glass. I use diluted Orange Guard, an oil based spray from citrus peel. Whatever you use, though, make sure to get it in the crown and crevices between the leaves to get all of them.

It looks like mites to me! Use the "best stuff ever" to get rid of them. I'd link to it but I'm on my phone.

Thanks for the responses - I'll hunt down the recipe for the "best stuff ever" which I've seen in other threads!

Interesting, spide mites tend to do damage under the leaves, usually by wipeing a tissue under the leaf you can wipe off some of the bodies giving a redish mess on the tissue.
To me it looks like a fungal or something cause by the poor growth of the orchid, Phallis in good growth usually have a nice sheen to the leaf surface, these look kinda stressed
How are the roots growing!

I agree with Ron on the mites, I'd bet you're seeing the artifacts of bacterial or fungal damage caused by leaving mist droplets on the leaves as night falls. Looks like the damage has stopped, and you shouldn't see it on new leaves. If you do, I've guessed wrong!

The roots look wonderful - fat, green and plentiful, though the media (bark) is rather dark, so I consider it at the end of its useful life. It's dropping its blooms, so I'll repot soon, and treat it with "Best Stuff" and Physan to cover all the bases. I've already treated it with an insecticide (Bayer) that I got at Hausermann's (though it isn't rated as a miticide). Hopefully the 1-2-3 punch will take care of it. Thanks for all of your responses!

Good luck, keep us updated on the progress of the plant.
Yes a repotting often does wonders for Phallies, I try to do at least every 2 years even if the media is still ok.
